Folklore Fusions is a music project featuring the visual motive of a handwoven Afghan rug. Made of a multitude of colored fibers, a rug is an object that brings beauty to a person's home, today like hundreds of years ago. Folk music is no different. Played, sung, danced to, and lived by generations, folk music tells its stories to people today the same way it entertained generations in the past. Like a rug that is made of countless colorful threads, Shum Davar draws from a plethora of musical and cultural influences. Their inherent differences come together in the band's music to form an integral whole. Shum Davar's music is like a flying carpet, evidencing that folklore is a universal phenomenon.

Formed in 2013, Shum Davar is an international band based in Prague, Czech Republic.
